Very Useful Windows Notepad Trick

If you have edited a text file using windows notepad, you have no ways to find out when the editing has happened. Just follow the steps mentioned below to enable this facility in Notepad

1) Create a new text file with the following text, '.LOG' and save the file.

2) Now close the file and reopen the file and add some text. You will notice that the notepad adds the current date & time now.

This is really very useful. I always work alonside with notepad which is a unseparated part of my daily work.

Now i can look back for any notepad text created any time of the year with complete info about its creation.

Thanks a lot.

I tried it..Its good.Thanks for the info.

Even in the existing notepad,if we open and give .LOG at the beginning and then close it and when we reopen it we get the date and time at the end of all the texts.

Also, even though we save multiple times before closing the notepad text, the date and time displayed will always be our closing date and time of the notepad.
And it will be displayed only once at the end of the notepad text.

great...I guess the first line of the file with .LOG is the key. Thanks Barani for the tip:-)
